Volunteering

Volunteers play a major role in the success of the Project. The Project needs no specific qualifications, though once in a while some specific expertise will be required. Volunteers will assist in any of the development areas of the school and the community as a whole. Staying in the guesthouse will be provided for free to the volunteer. Because funding has to go directly to the community, the project will be unable to shoulder other expenses. All volunteers will however experience living in a tropical island with nice beaches fronting the Pacific Ocean, unspoilt forests and mangrove, national parks with caves full of stalactites and stalagmites, canoeing on a pristine river and living in a community with gentle and hospitable people. There are no specific timetable for volunteers. Respect of local norms must be observed. The English language is well-understood in the community. Donations

Balud Project relies on the generosity of corporate and individual donors. The Development Team actively seeks sponsors for the Project. They link with individuals and organizations who are enthusiastic in supporting the various activities. The project is currently being registered as a non-profit development organization in Europe. Financial assistance is highly appreciated. Donations such as books (English) and other school materials are also encouraged.
